PREMIERE: Sydney’s Above, Below Unleash DIY Video For Furious New Metalcore Belter, ‘Blood Wine’

Sydney’s progressive metalcore five-piece Above, Below have loosed the official music video for their new single ‘Blood Wine’, the third cut of their forthcoming album The Lotus Chapters.

The DIY clip was shot and edited by Connor Rancan in frontman Jacob Wilkes’ basement.

“We did everything DIY creating the blood wine pool ourselves in a bath tub. Connor smashed it out of the park and we couldn’t be more stoked on the final act to the trilogy of The Lotus Chapter videos,” explains guitarist and lyricist, Zac Adamson.

The track itself is a spasmodic monster, veering from pummelling scream-smattered riffage to soaring melodic passages, while examining the concept of toxic relationships both in their romantic and non-romantic forms.

“As we mature and grow as people we begin to see others in different lights and explore the various facets of connection,” Adamson explains.

“‘Blood Wine’ is an exploration of one of these many connections, in particular one existing in a negative light.” The single looks at the bouncing between blaming yourself and blaming the other and the cognitive dissonance associated with that mental feud.”
